Bharat Taxi App Launching on January 1, 2026: No Surge Pricing, Higher Driver Earnings, Auto–Bike–Car Services in One App

The Indian mobility and ride-hailing sector is set for a major transformation with the launch of the Bharat Taxi app on January 1, 2026. Positioned as a strong alternative to existing cab aggregators, Bharat Taxi aims to bring fair pricing for passengers and better income security for drivers, addressing long-standing issues like surge pricing and high commission cuts.

The Bharat Taxi app is promoted by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited, a government-backed initiative focused on a driver-first and cooperative-led model. One of the biggest highlights of the app is its fixed and transparent fare system, which means passengers will no longer face sudden price hikes during peak hours, bad weather, or festivals.

From day one, the platform will offer bike, auto, and car booking options through a single app, making it convenient for daily commuters, office-goers, and long-distance travelers alike. The service is expected to initially focus on major cities, with Delhi likely to be among the first operational regions.

On the driver side, Bharat Taxi introduces a refreshing change by allowing drivers—referred to as “Saarthis”—to retain over 80% of their earnings, significantly higher than most existing platforms. In select phases, the app may also operate on a zero or very low commission model, helping drivers achieve stable and sustainable incomes.

According to official information, more than 56,000 drivers have already registered on the platform ahead of the launch, ensuring good availability of rides across different vehicle categories. Safety and trust are also key focus areas, with features such as police verification, 24/7 customer support, and transparent ride tracking built into the system.

With rising concerns over affordability, driver welfare, and monopolistic practices in the ride-hailing market, the Bharat Taxi app could mark the beginning of a new era in India’s smart mobility ecosystem. Its launch on New Year 2026 is being closely watched by commuters, drivers, and industry experts alike.
