Darbar Sahib Enhances Pilgrim Safety: New Poly-Wool Carpets Laid on Bridge and Parikrama Path

In a significant step toward improving devotee comfort and safety, the management of Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) has installed new poly-wool carpets across the bridge leading to the sanctum and along the entire Parikrama pathway. The initiative aims to provide the Sangat with a safer, softer, and more weather-resistant walking experience during their spiritual journey at one of the holiest Sikh shrines.

These newly laid poly-wool carpets are non-slip, durable, and designed to withstand extreme weather conditions. They offer excellent insulation—keeping the surface cool during harsh summers and warm during cold winters—ensuring devotees can walk comfortably throughout the year. The upgrade also significantly reduces the risk of slipping, especially during peak hours or when the marble becomes wet.

This development reflects the continuous efforts to enhance facilities at Darbar Sahib and create a more serene, safe, and seamless pilgrimage experience. Devotees visiting the Golden Temple will now benefit from improved walking surfaces that add both comfort and safety to the sacred Parikrama.
