The Delhi government is set to bring back the iconic double-decker bus experience, this time with a modern, eco-friendly twist. A fleet of Ashok Leyland electric buses (EVs) will soon offer tourists a unique sightseeing experience of the capital’s illuminated landmarks, primarily through dedicated evening tours.
The specially curated circuit will start from the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya and cover iconic spots across Lutyens’ Delhi, including the National War Memorial, Bharat Mandapam, the new Parliament Complex, and Dilli Haat. Guided tours on the open-top buses aim to provide an elevated, immersive experience for both domestic and international visitors.
Fares are priced at ₹500 for adults and ₹300 for children aged 6–12, making it an affordable way to explore Delhi’s heritage. The service, expected to be flagged off within a month, marks the return of the beloved double-decker buses to the city, combining nostalgia with sustainable tourism.
